Michael A. Gorman, DC, ATC, CSCS

Gorman Optimal Health Solutions, Inc.

Dr. Michael Gorman is a licensed Chiropractic Physician who owns Gorman Optimal Health Solutions, Inc. in Fairless Hills, PA.  He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.  He did his undergraduate study in psychology at Shippensburg University, and in sports medicine at West Chester University.  Before attending Chiropractic College, Dr. Gorman worked in physical therapy and sports medicine at Holy Redeemer Hospital and in Villanova University’s Sports Medicine Department.  While at Villanova he worked with all the teams, but primarily focused and traveled with the football and cross country and track teams.  He also had varied experience as a personal fitness trainer designing different strength and conditioning programs.

Blending the best of both traditional and alternative perspectives into his current practice, Dr. Gorman’s primary diagnostic tool is a specialty called Applied Kinesiology (AK).  The science of AK draws from many different therapies, including chiropractic, osteopathic medicine, acupuncture, clinical nutrition, psychology, and rehabilitation.  Through the methods of AK, Dr. Gorman treats the whole person by addressing his or her physical, nutritional, and emotional health.  AK uses muscle testing to evaluate the brain and nervous system, which oversees and controls every single function in the human body.   It utilizes all traditional diagnostic measures such as X-ray, MRI, blood, urine, hair, and saliva laboratory testing to aid in the assessment of various injuries and conditions.  Combining his psychology degree with his certification in Neuro-Emotional Technique, he is also able to address various types of stress and its direct effect on a person’s health, as well as peak mental state.

Aside from his private practice, Dr. Gorman currently works at the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential, where he helps evaluate and treat brain-injured children through the use of biofeedback and Applied Kinesiology.  He is also a graduate of the Bucks County Leadership program and Landmark Education’s “Curriculum for Living”.  He takes great pride in the importance of educating his patients on a daily basis, as well as the public through his many speaking engagements in the area.  Aside from ongoing health talks at his office, he has lectured at Thomas Jefferson University’s School of Integrative Medicine, The Philly Fit Bash, The Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce, and is an ongoing speaker at the Fairless Hills YMCA.  He has been a teaching assistant for post-graduate courses in Applied Kinesiology, and has participated in a research study to further the scientific validity of Chiropractic.

Furthermore, Dr. Gorman has also taken a multitude of additional post-graduate coursework including extensive hours of neurology, acupuncture, clinical nutrition, sports medicine, psychology, and various energy medicine techniques.  In addition to Applied Kinesiology, he also holds certifications in Acupuncture and Meridian Therapy, Neuro-Emotional Technique, Athletic Training (ATC), and Strength and Conditioning (CSCS).  Because of the complexity and diverse nature of all of these specialties, along with his traditional sports medicine experience, his passion ranges from treating someone with chronic pain or fatigue desperately searching for a solution, to the average person who wants to decrease stress and improve their health, all the way up to the most elite athletes looking to prevent injuries and maximize their performance.  When not practicing, writing, teaching, or attending seminars himself, he enjoys yoga, running, weight lifting, sports, reading, listening to motivational/inspirational CDs, and spending time with his family and friends.
